Vatican Releases Images of Blessed Carlo Acutis' Incorrupt Body ahead of Canonization

Subtle Signs of Decay Visible After 16 Years of Burial

Young Tech Whiz and Patron of the Internet Set to Become First Millennial Saint

The Vatican has released stunning images of the incorrupt body of Blessed Carlo Acutis, whose canonization is set for May 23, 2024. Acutis, a devout Catholic and computer whiz who died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15, would become the first millennial to be canonized.

Acutis' body was exhumed in October 2021 for examination as part of the canonization process. The images, released in November 2023, show Acutis' body with subtle signs of decay, a normal process after years of burial. However, his organs and skin remain intact, a testament to the grace of God.

Pope Francis recognized the second miracle attributed to Acutis' intercession in May 2023. The first miracle, a healing of a child with a serious pancreatic disease, was recognized in 2020. Acutis is known for his love of the Eucharist and his website documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world. He is considered a role model for young people in the digital age.

The canonization of Acutis will be a historic event, not only because he is the first millennial saint but also because it is a testament to the power of faith and the transformative role of technology in evangelization.
